About Hillary Rutherford

Authentic and bold, Hillary Rutherford is an interior designer specializing in residential and boutique commercial interiors. After relocating to Calgary over a decade ago from her hometown of Fort Erie, Ontario, she channels her vivacious approach to life into her work. Hillary’s design process emphasizes understanding her clients on a deep level, allowing for genuinely authentic spaces.

Her playful and bold style brings her clients' visions to life and ensures a fun and engaging design experience. With Hillary’s personalized approach and the individuality of each project, authentic, tailored, and uncommon spaces come to life.

Hillary graduated from Bow Valley College with a diploma in Interior Decorating and worked as a product specialist + project manager in the flooring and tile industry for nearly a decade. In addition to her experience in the interior design industry, creative by nature, she spent three years establishing a local lifestyle clothing brand with her now-husband, further developing her skills in creative direction, partnership development and knack for entrepreneurship. 

Since establishing Hillary Rutherford Interiors in 2021, she has worked with homeowners and business owners across Canada and the United States on residential and boutique commercial renovations. Hillary was featured as the main stage designer and guest speaker at the 2024 Calgary Renovation Show, gaining media attention and on-air segments with CBC Radio, QR107 Calgary, Global News Calgary and CTV Morning News. Her recently completed project, the ‘Classy A-Frame’, is a Western Living Design 25 Award finalist.
